Prior to joining Cotten Schmidt, L.L.P. in 2001, Brenda Ferguson practiced law for two years with an insurance defense firm in Houston, Texas. Ms. Ferguson focuses her practice in general civil litigation involving toxic tort and products liability cases and premises liability. She has trial experience in premises liability defense and insurance defense. As part of her litigation practice, Brenda has participated in all aspects of preparing a case for trial, including discovery, depositions, preparing expert witnesses, and motion practice. In addition, Ms. Ferguson represents clients in family law matters. Specifically, her family law services include divorce, child support, child custody and visitation, premarital and postmarital agreements, and mediation. Ms. Ferguson is trained in and practices Collaborative Family Law, a positive alternative to the traditional litigation method of handling a divorce.
Ms. Ferguson was named a 2008 Rising Star in Texas Monthly magazine and listed as one of the "Top Attorneys" in Family Law in the Fort Worth, Texas magazine, 2008.
